We Don’t Have To, We Get To

What an Honor.

One way to open your eyes is to ask yourself, “What if I had never seen this before? What if I knew I would never see it again?”

As I witness precious souls
being taken from this earth

I see strength in Spirit
like never before

Courage, fortitude
and acts of true Heroism
emerging from
the depths of pain
dedication
commitment
compassion
Love

I see the hope.
I see the good.
I see the privilege.
I see the blessings.

We, the ones still standing,
Get to be here.

We get to witness.
We get to survive.
We get to Breathe.
We get to Live.

We don’t have to wake up in the morning.
We get to.

We don’t have to work.
We get to.

We don’t have to exercise.
We get to.

We don’t have to help others.
We get to.

We don’t have to make dinner and clean the house.
We get to.

We don’t have to take care of our children.
We get to.

We don’t have to show up for that meeting.
We get to.

We don’t have to live.
We get to.

As we bear witness
to our Existence
and all
that we are feeling
and experiencing

May we see Life.
May we find Truth.
May we acknowledge Spirit.
May we find the Light
and Gratitude.

May we grieve.
May we sing for all.
May we dance and thrive
as we align in
Faith
and Love.

T O G E T H E R.

May we appreciate what
we, the ones still standing,
Get to do.
For at least
One
More
Day.

To all suffering
To all serving
To each
and every
One
of You.

I see You.

You are Loved.
You are Honored.
You are
still

Here.
