I enjoy perusing photographs as well as taking my

I enjoy perusing photographs as well as taking my own, but mostly I am moved by the intimate capture of a subject that isn’t staged or aware of my presence. My point of view changed once I gave birth and my photography has become much more personal and close to my heart. I love capturing the true essence of a person. The raw beauty in an object or structure. A glorious shift in the clouds, the swaying of a tree, and the tide drifting out toward the horizon. I aspire to capture pure emotion and the authenticity of a moment. I am always present and yet, my camera is always ready. I am playing, engaging, and experiencing, all while capturing what I don’t ever want to forget. These memories will last a lifetime within my mind, through my photographs and words, and deep within my heart. I realize how precious and significant each moment is and I am always evolving, growing, and gaining more clarity. As you look at my photos, which I so enjoy sharing, my wish is that you not only see the subject, but you also experience my vision; What I see and feel in a precious and brief; moment in time. The photographic lens and the written word, truly capture my experience in this life. I imagine this is true for so many of you as well. As the rain gently trickles upon my face it camouflages the tears of joy and gratitude I’m allowing to flow. Each droplet attempts to cleanse and purify Any fear Doubt Lack of Peace or Harmony. A little dance The sound of your laughter Children jumping through puddles The wetness against my skin The echo as the drops softly kiss the pavement Oh, how I love you, rain. You comfort me You restore me You shine the necessary light upon the uncertainty You give me strength and Clarity. When I first visited Bali, on my own, many years a

When I first visited Bali, on my own, many years ago, I was told there was a very special medicine man, Ketut Liyer, who lived in Ubud. I didn’t get a chance to meet him at that time. Years later, I read the book, Eat Pray Love and he was one of the significant characters Elizabeth Gilbert met on her journey. I remember how I felt when I read the book and saw the movie. I recall feeling like I understood the depth and connection she experienced meeting him as well as the connection she had with Ubud. I related and always knew I would return. Fast forward to the year my family and I traveled around the world. We were almost nine months into our adventure before we arrived in Bali; one of my favorite places on earth. As the plane was approaching, I clearly recall feeling like I was going back home. Whilst driving in a taxi upon arrival, I inquired about Ketut. I found out his home was right around the corner from where we were staying. As soon as we settled in, I felt compelled to make arrangements for a visit. I felt welcome from the moment we entered his home. I experienced the deep wisdom of a 100-year-old man sitting before me, just by looking at him. So much was communicated before we even spoke. This meeting was a destined component on my path. This day, exactly as it was, couldn’t have been more special. He read my palm and analyzed my soul. Deeply. He brought to light much for me to contemplate about this life, my place in it, and things to come. He made me laugh with the kind of belly laugh that makes one truly understand what joy is. He told me a few other things, which I keep to myself, but often ponder. I will always remember this day. I will continue walking on this path with my heart open and the willingness to recognize and embrace life’s teachers, lessons, and answers along the way. I will continue questioning, observing, learning, giving, and growing with all of the awareness and love in my heart. Thank you, dearest Ketut, for being so lovingly and openly present to my family and to me. She. She knows pain suffering adversity grief yet embodies Grace like no other Her deepest wounds and conflicts have become her greatest strengths and healings She is a Survivor. You will tell her she’s changing and she will humbly declare, “I’m finally stepping into the woman I’m supposed to be.” She will diminish her power just so that you can shine and reflect in her presence She is the manifestation of True.
